Cooler Food and Drinks for Summer

At last summer has arrived here in Germany. It was 34 °Celcius today. The temperature will increase tomorrow. In a few days, it will reach to almost 40°C. Well, that was what the weather forecast said. 

It´s very hot if you are outside but not when you are inside of the house and the blinds of the glas windows are down. I love summer  more than  winter time. A time for me to walk barefoot inside the house. It is also a time for me to drink a lot of water. Nothing is more healthier for me as a glas of cold water but I have to change this habit of drinking cold water as I have read a report that drinking cold water or any cold drinks makes a person more thirsty than before. I have to think about that. I don´t only have to think about drinks but also about food which is light for the tummy like salads. Vegetables or fruit salad and of course a cool delicious dessert.

Here are my Cooler Food and Drinks for Summer!
  1. Vegetable Salad is one of the healthiest food in summer. It´s so easy to make for lunch or dinner. The salad below is just a variety of fresh and washed veggies like lettuce, sliced champignon, cut bell peppers, shredded carrots and root beet, sliced cucumber, tomatoes and of course smoked salmon. Serve with yoghurt sauce and a slice of rye or whole wheat bread.

2. Fruit Salad is just a mixture of different kinds of fruits in season like avocado, mango, papaya, pineapple, watermelon and any fruits you love. Slice and mix them together without sugar. The natural sweetness is healthy. Of course you can add yoghurt or ice cream in this salad.

3. Fruit Smoothie is a delicious and healthy drink for summer. Just choose  fruits you love like strawberries, bananas, mango, etc. Then mix them with natural yoghurt or juice and blend in the blender.

4. Ready made cold cream desserts such as ice cream, iced cakes, ice candies or ice drops are also suitable to cool ourselves from the hot summer.



There are many ways to cool ourselves from the heat of the sun. The food and drinks above are what I prepare for summer. What about you? Don´t forget to drink a lot and to put sunblock on your skin before going out to protect from sunburn. Thanks for your visit. Enjoy your summer!
